Operation Torch was the Allied landing in North Africa in November 1942 — the first major American offensive of the Second World War, and the opening of the path to the Mediterranean.

The 1911 went ashore with those men, and stayed in service through two World Wars and the generations that followed. This platform is our tribute to The Greatest Generation and the men who carried this pistol into battle.

Their legacy lit the way. Now we carry The Torch.

The Torch,

The Torch Tactical keeps the original architecture that made The Torch Legacy model a great shooting pistol and revises the systems that govern how it cycles and how it sits in the hand. Here's everything that changed, and everything that didn't.

01 / Slide

The Tactical slide

V6 porting + two inline vertical ports The Torch Tactical keeps the v6 porting system and adds two additional vertical ports in line through the top of the slide.

4140 chromoly · black DLC

The complete slide is machined from heat-treated 4140 chromoly steel, the same material as the frame; and finished in black DLC, a hard, low-friction coating.

02 / Frame

Control starts with the frame.

Ambidextrous Gas Petal thumb rest machined into the Torch Tactical frame, below the engraved slide.
Patented ambidextrous thumb rests An integrated thumb rest on each side of the frame — a machined shelf that gives the support thumb a fixed place to load against while shooting. Cut directly into the steel on both sides, so it can't shift, loosen, or get knocked out of position the way a bolt-on rest can.
Ambidextrous safety lever and beavertail at the rear of the Torch Tactical frame.
Ambidextrous safety A thumb safety on both sides of the frame, so the pistol runs the same way left- or right-handed.

03 / Grip + trigger

Grip. Trigger. Control.

The Custom Miller Grip and trigger well: aggressive checkering wrapping the double-stack frame, with trigger, trigger guard and the flared magwell base in frame.
Custom Miller Grip A deeply cut, aggressive texture wrapping the double-stack frame. It gives the firing hand something positive to hold under recoil so the grip does not shift between shots.

Miller Trigger · adjustment port A flat-faced trigger matched to the grip geometry. The port through the frame lets pre-travel and over-travel be adjusted without pulling the trigger group out.

Competition Magwell A flared funnel at the base of the grip that widens the opening, so a magazine finds the well under speed.

04 / Internal engineering

The changes
you don't see.

Three revisions sit inside the pistol. None is visible with the slide closed, and each one changes how it runs. In every comparison below the Legacy part is on the left and the Tactical part on the right.

Disconnector ramp

The disconnector resets the trigger between shots. Revised ramp machining smooths its pass under the slide, for a lighter-feeling action.

Reduced slide mass

Less reciprocating mass means faster, more efficient cycling. The largest opening sits behind the optic pocket, visible on the right-hand slide.

Debris-clearing channels

Relief channels cut into the frame rails let grit and fouling escape instead of packing into the interface. Angling them up, down, and away means the slide's own movement carries debris out as the pistol cycles.

05 / Optics + front sight

Built around the sight picture.

Captured direct-mount optic system

The sight sits lower and is held by the slide rather than by a plate. Cut for the Trijicon RMR and SRO footprints, and carried onto Tactical model unchanged.

Mid-height tritium front sight

A mid height tritium front post - tall enough to co-witness through the optic window and to stand in on its own, without blocking the dot.

06 / Material + craft

Built one at a time.

Every Torch Tactical is fit as a single unit, hand assembled, and stays together as one, which is not an optional talking point on a premium double-stack 1911, but what the platform demands.

07 / Front end

5″ bull barrel
+ strike face

5-inch bull barrel

A full-diameter barrel with no separate bushing — it fills the front of the slide and crowns flush at the muzzle.

Strike face

The squared, reinforced steel geometry surrounding and beneath the muzzle, carrying the accessory rail forward to the front of the frame.
