Operation Torch was the Allied landing in North Africa in November 1942 — the first major American offensive of the Second World War, and the opening of the path to the Mediterranean.
The 1911 went ashore with those men, and stayed in service through two World Wars and the generations that followed. This platform is our tribute to the Greatest Generation and the men who carried it into battle.

Tailored Arms began with the bonds formed through military service and the firearms built to honor them. Each build marked a milestone: returning from a deployment, earning a promotion, or reaching retirement. Behind every firearm was a person and a story that made the work personal. That connection has stayed with the company as it has grown. Today, a team of combat veterans and former law enforcement brings the same care to each Torch Tactical, from design through finishing and assembly. There’s still something special about building a pistol that someone will be proud to call their own.
Building one pistol at a time lets us give it our whole attention. The slide, barrel, and frame are hand fit as a matched unit, with care given to the internal working surfaces, intricate machining, and hand polishing. We pay attention to how the parts work together and how the finished pistol looks and feels, including details you may never see without taking it apart. Final assembly and testing bring that work together into a pistol we’re proud to put in your hands.
Our Principles
Our time in service shaped what we expect from a pistol and why the details matter. We build with the perspective of people who have carried one as part of the job.
Steel, machining, heat-treating, finishing. Everything we build is sourced and manufactured on American soil, start to finish.
Each pistol is fit as a single unit, from the same chunk of steel. All fitted parts are serialized and follow each pistol throughout the entire production process.

01 / Slide
Intricate design techniques and machining give the slide its sleek, distinctive profile. Built from the same heat treated 4140 chromoly steel as the frame, each slide is hand fit to its barrel and frame as a matched unit. Hand polishing prepares the surface for a hard, low friction black DLC finish.

04 / Optics + front sight
The Flared-Captured footprint surrounds and protects the optic, allowing it to sit as low as possible in the slide for a clear sight picture close to the barrel’s centerline. Machined directly into the slide and cut for the Trijicon SRO and RMR, it eliminates the need for an adapter plate. A built-in sight lock seats the optic in the same position each time it’s mounted, helping preserve zero between battery swaps.
A Low to mid-height tritium front sight provides co-witness backup without blocking the dot. A single set screw makes installation and removal quick, so you can run it your way.
06 / Front end
A 5" bull barrel sits flush with the slide and features a high-polished DLC finish for a sleek look and easy cleaning and maintenance.
A precision-machined tac-rail carried all the way forward on the frame to accommodate a wider variety of light, lasers, and other accessories. The sharp strike face edge of the rail is our addition to this rail. Because why not? When you run out of ammo, you can always use blunt force.

The why
Our background led us to view firearms as tools, and we’ve always treated them as such. The creative side came later: taking an idea about how a firearm should look or feel and finding a way to bring that vision to life. We strive to build firearms you’d want to just display in your collection, but it's undeniable that it runs as good or better than anything else you normally take to the range. Building functional works of art is a passion we strive to embody with each model firearm we create.
Our motivation comes from doing work we love and seeing how much further we can take it with each new creation. Staying at the tip of the spear means exploring new technology, questioning familiar approaches, and putting our engineering and design ideas to the test. There’s a particular satisfaction in holding something that once existed only as an idea, knowing the effort it took to get there. That feeling keeps us excited about the work and thinking about what we want to create next.
